La Venise de l'Ouest

La Venise de l'Ouest

Nantes has often been referred to as Venice of the West for its many quays and channels which were filled in the 1920s.

The city dates back to the Bronze Age and the many historical sites and stunning castles evoke utter wonderment.

During their stay at Chateau de Maubreuil, Val & Michelle roamed the meandering gardens filled with worldly treasures.
The original castle burned to the ground during the French Revolution; still the current castle, rebuilt in 1815, holds a wealth of history.

Val & Michelle found inspiration in the array of art: Bamiléké wooden sculptures, an elephant bought on the streets of Delhi and a dazzling Baccarat chandelier made of 150 crystal feathers.

The historical artistry, a breath of invigoration.
